The Children’s Mafia is my newest pitch for a book idea and I’m looking for a great design for a title! For that, I’m constructing a contest for anyone wishing to join, and the grand prize includes a free copy of the book, and $200 cash! A bonus $50 gift card will be offered to the winner if they pre-order a copy of the first book in the Abnormal’s Series! The contest date will open on September 30th, 2015 and will close on December 24th, 2015.
I know that there are plenty of places where I can get a title, design or logo created professionally, but it my belief that, sometimes, fans are the best artists that are just yet to be discovered! I value your input, and I love the idea of giving everyone a chance to make something your proud of, and hey, you make get recognized later for it down the road!
As for the design: remember that the story is called The Children’s Mafia and I’m sure the title (and thus your entries) should speak for themselves. There are no rules to the contest, or guidance to follow; you are encouraged to let your creative juices flow and create a good-looking title to the best of your abilities. Keep in mind that if your design is chosen, it will be featured on my story (along with your name), probably be seen by the world, and (once profits begin to roll in) will entitle you to a piece of the pie! Full credit (as an illustrator) will be given once the book is released.
The only thing that I ask is that there is a limit on graphic nature of entries submitted — this is a young-adult novel — if graphic or controversial images are present, make sure that they are in good artistic taste. Actual photos are allowed as well, but none that are copyrighted and would result in legal action against me, and by extension you. * For those who may create poster-worthy images, the use of hashtag’s featuring the title are advised for bonus points.
I will judge entries by creativity, effort, and overall look and feel.
(Some late entries will be allowed, depending on the circumstances, and if there is any mitigating information that I should know that may effect your chances, or your entry, please let me know asap.)
Do you have ideas but not the drawing prowess to create a design? Do you know someone that may be interested in drawing for you, or for themselves? That’s fine, like and share this contest on social media and collaboration entries will be accepted as well, and the winnings split between the parties involved.
