I just realized that I have yet to explain how The Abnormals came about.
To begin, it started quite a few years ago, and I remember the idea specifically hitting me on a dreary day when the clouds were gray, and the wind was downright ridiculous. The cloudy sky lit up momentarily as lightning flashed across it, and thunder rumbled overhead; it was then that I thought about wonderous and powerful lightning was.
Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have some sort of strange epiphany or connection to lightning and thunder – but at that moment I just thought about what it could mean if an average person such as myself could wield it. It was just one of those times when my head was running with all the drama of life and I took a step out of my own world to appreciate the beauty of nature. That doesn’t happen as often as I’d like!
However, this event, combined with my desire to create a story with elements of romance, comedy, and drama drove me to learn the craft of writing (and by any means necessary: a feat that took me two years to accomplish).
